In the AGM 2025 agenda, the “Copperstone Council Message” includes the following:
The large increase in our water rate by the City of New Westminster is in accordance with the increased cost of water and sewer that is being charged by Metro Vancouver to all cities and municipalities in our region.
I went to New Westminster City Hall and spoke to several people in the finance department about this “large increase” in water cost.
It’s 6% year over year.
Now, what constitutes large may vary from person to person, but this does not strike me as a large increase. It’s actually on the small side.
Sewer went up 10% year over year.

And yes, the city officials confirmed these increases are the ones that apply to Copperstone.
